IAS Smarts was the most successful agency at the B2B Marketing Awards 2006, walking away with trophies in three categories. Speedy Hire was the most successful client, winning two categories, whilst McCann Erickson scooped the Grand Prix for its campaign for the Carbon Trust.
Meanwhile, Mason Zimbler won 'Agency of the year' and Tony Massey of HH Print Management was appointed 'B2B marketer of the year'.
Other winners were: HH Print Management, DQM Group, Logicbox, AGA Group, Grant Thornton, Gilroy, Gyro International, Itineris, Intelligent Marketing, TDA, Planet, Birddog, Three's Company Communications and Barrett Dixon Bell. For more detail on all the winners, see the awards supplement, distributed with this issue, or available to download from www.b2bmarketingawards.co.uk.
The prestigious 'Best use of creative' award for a campaign for Michelin was amongst IAS Smarts' haul of trophies, which also included 'Best PR campaign' for work with RTS Flexible Systems and 'Outstanding contribution to B2B marketing' for its chairman Tim Hazelhurst. The agency's haul was completed with two certificates for 'runner-up' status.
Speedy Hire submitted entries to the awards directly, not through an agency, and walked away with trophies for 'Best customer relationship campaign' and 'Best use of research'.
McCann Erickson Business Communications won 'Best integrated campaign' for its work for the Carbon Trust, and went on to win the Grand Prix category, which was awarded by judges as the best campaign from the individual category winners. Peter Hambly, director of marketing & communications at The Carbon Trust, comments, “Business communications are at the centre of what we do as business action is at the heart of combating climate change. It was therefore great news to receive the recognition from the B2B marketing community through the Grand Prix award that we are being effective in getting our message on cutting carbon emissions across, as this is an essential step in providing the action needed.”
